Center launch: INSPIRE

The Department of Communication is proud to announce the launch of the new INSPIRE research center, aimed at fostering the understanding of women’s contributions to the history of philosophy.

INSPIRE, which stands for Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Women in the History of Philosophy is dedicated to retrieving women’s philosophical thought, reassessing gender conceptualizations, questioning traditional narratives, and advancing gender equality within the field of philosophy and academia.

The program for the day will include:

  • Welcome by Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Kirsten Busch Nielsen.
  • Welcome by Prorector for Research David Dreyer Lassen.
  • The center’s aspiration and purpose by Head of Center INSPIRE Sabrina Ebbersmeyer.
  • Inspiring Minds: The Scandinavian Contribution to Women's History of Philosophy. Research presentation by Postdoc PhD Martin Fog Arndal.
  • Musical interlude.
  • Reception.

INSPIRE’s mission is to create a platform where women’s philosophical contributions can be recognized and celebrated. By exploring and highlighting women’s roles in the history of philosophy, INSPIRE hopes to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable academic world.

We hope to see you all to the celebration of INSPIRE.
