Philosophy as Passion for Knowledge: What kind of history of philosophy for the 21st century?
Inaugural lecture by Professor Sabrina Ebbersmeyer.
Philosophy and its long tradition have shaped European thought and society up to the present day. Understanding philosophy’s past is crucial for developing creative solutions to today’s challenges and shaping the future. In her inaugural lecture as professor of philosophy, Sabrina Ebbersmeyer argues for a feminist approach to the history of philosophy, aiming not only to amend traditional accounts of philosophy’s past but also to foster greater diversity and inclusivity in philosophy and academia at large.
After the lecture, the Department of Communication will host a reception.
